GARLAND - No, this is not some cool vintage mobile home, this 1,200 square foot house on wheels is one of Garland's historic gems!

“The house is one of our oldest homes still remaining in Garland, ” Becky King with the City of Garland explained.  “It reflects an age and style of architecture that's rare to find today.”

The Lyles House was temporarily nestled behind the Granville Arts Center, but instead of demolishing the 1870`s farm house to make way for a new town square, city officials decided to roll the antique abode a few blocks down the road -- where it should feel right at home!

“We're moving the house to a new location where it will sit next to other historic structures,” King added.

Although nobody's moving in, the city is working to raise enough money to turn this old house into one of Garland`s main attractions.

But people were already snapping pictures and taking selfies in front of it!!

“I think it's pretty spectacular all the people watching and the firefighters intact,” one pedestrian said.

“It's amazing how they got this in here, it's a pretty big house, it's awesome!”

Guess, it's not every day you see a big old house easing on down the road!
