NORTH TEXAS -- Hey North Texas, feeling that brisk bite yet? Well, don't fret! We`ve got a few tips to keep you warm, safe and ready for anything ol' man winter.

So, everyone gets the munchies right? Well, stock up on food and lots of it. There's nothing worse than risking your life to make a grocery store run in the middle of an ice storm.

Blankets, blankets, and more blankets. Whether it's at home or in your car you want to make sure you have plenty on hand in case the power goes out.

It`s also time to pull out that extra supply of coats and scarves.

Winterize your car! No that doesn`t mean pimpin’ it out with frosted color paint. We`re talking a vehicle check-up.  A good heating system, ice and snow ready tires will come in handy. And it wouldn`t hurt to make sure you`re running on at least a half a tank of gas at all times.

These days’ triple AAA batteries may seem foreign but one pack, a portable radio and couple of flashlights will keep you from being left in the dark.

And last but certainly not least ... A Netflix subscription. Yeah, we went there. This will probably be your polar plunge savior! Make sure you`re signed up (or have a buddy`s password). You`ll thank us later!
