h_lifestyleshopall_31NEW YORK, NY —  Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, but when it comes to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, thin has been in for a long time. That’s about to change because for the first time #TeamThick will be represented in this year’s issue.

Plus size model Ashley Graham will be featured in an ad for Swimsuits For All, a bikini manufacturer specializing in plus-sized swimwear.

This isn’t Ashley’s first time in the limelight. She also starred in a commercial for Lane Bryant which was banned by ABC for being “too racy,” but Ashley believes ABC just wasn’t ready to show a bra her size on TV. She sports a 38D.

Swimsuits For All says they want to celebrate the “beginnings” of the “curvy girl era”.

The beginnings? We could’ve sworn that Sir Mix-A-Lot was shouting out big girls quite a while ago. Plus the pop culture scales seem to have finally tipped too with artists like Meghan Trainor making songs that promote a positive body image for women of all sizes.

So make room at the table for plus-sized girls because it looks like it’s their time to shine.

Hey S.I., don’t you think it’s about time to put someone like Ashley on the cover?
