DALLAS -- Something BIG is coming back to Dallas and it can only be described as a mega-event. Bishop T.D. Jakes, who preaches at The Potter's House, is once again bringing his MegaFest to Dallas.

This is a big deal for Big D; the event was previously held in Atlanta, coming to Dallas for the first time in 2013. The three-day event brought 75,000 folks from all over the world, and all those people brought big bucks -- more than $41 million. Cha-ching!

This year, 85,000 are expected to flock the festival; the conference focuses on family and will showcase seminars, concerts, and a film festival.

According to the MegaFest website, speakers this year will include Bishop T.D. Jakes (of course), wife Serita A. Jakes, daughter Sarah Jakes, and speaker-author Joyce Meyer.

You can also expect to see some familiar faces on city streets come August. That's right: The queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey, is expected to be back in Dallas for the event.

Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins was scheduled to be on hand and roll out the official welcome mat, but he was called away on urgent business.

Hey. Wait a minute. He's supposed to be in court today for a reported scuffle he had with two city employees.  Hmm.

Wonder if a court appearance was more urgent than the full court press.
