DALLAS, TX -- There’s a certain, inexplicable bond some men have with their cars -- a special attachment and appreciation.

But, chances are, you’ve never seen a bond quite like this one.

"I got it running and useful in 1965,” Hugo Richter Jr. recalled. Richter just added a memorable mile on the ole speedometer.

Richter is celebrating his 100th birthday. But, he isn’t the only one still operating on all cylinders. His car, a 1915 Model T, just hit the century mark with him.

"It’s about what you’d expect; it doesn’t have very soft springs, but it gets you there,” Richter said of his still operable Model T.

Oh, the roads these two must have seen in their 100-year journey through life. "My wife and I and her daughters, and sons-in-law, were all riding in this car around the town of Petersburg, Texas," Richter recalled with fondness.

"We let everybody know that we had a strange vehicle for them to take a look at.”

It sounds like it’s been one unforgettable ride. Happy Birthday, Mr. Richter -- here’s to more adventures down the road.
