DALLAS -- Santa came a little early for North Texas Drivers. Gas is selling for $1.99 per gallon at Fuel City.

Yep, the same Fuel City that's famous for its 24-hour taco sales.

"I figured I'd get me some tacos and some gas," Becky Morales said. "I don't know about the tacos right now," she continued, referring to the lines of people waiting to get gas.

Who thought we'd ever see gas below two bucks a gallon again?

"I ain't seen 1.99 in a long time," Janie Davilla said.

Some folks were filling up their vehicle's tank then getting a little extra in plastic gas cans.

So why have prices been going so low?

"Oil prices have been dropping and it's finally able to hit the consumer," said Erik Kotanchik, manager of Fuel City. "We're happy to pass it on so everyone's able to benefit."

A buck-99 at Fuel City is the best price we've seen in the area.

But GasBuddy.com reported several stations charging only about a dime more Friday afternoon. The average in DFW is $2.32.
