DALLAS, TX -- With just one day until Texas elects a new Governor, Greg Abbott brought out a big gun, or should we say the big roundhouse kick?

“To ensure we do a better job securing our border, two words: Chuck Norris,” Abbott said.

That’s right, Walker Texas Ranger himself, Chuck Norris, was stumping for Abbott at Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse in Dallas on Monday.

“Texas is number one out of all the fifty states,”  Norris said. “This man has the experience and leadership to keep us at number one.”

As we all know, Chuck Norris doesn’t just vote in elections; elections vote for Chuck Norris.

Things are looking good for Abbott, he’s up twenty points in the latest CBS News/ New York Times/ YouGov poll. But, there is one issue not even Norris can do anything about -- rain!

“Do not let that dampen your spirit, we need every last vote tomorrow,” Abbott appealed.

Meanwhile, Wendy Davis is spending her final day of campaigning in San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. Then, she's heading back to her campaign headquarters in Fort Worth.

No celeb appearances planned, but she still has a few hours to find someone who could take on Chuck Norris. Maybe she can get The Most Interesting Man in the World.
