KAUFMAN CO. – Well, today isn’t your lucky day if your last name happens to be Williams. That’s right, it’s double-trouble for Eric Williams and Michelle Williams. Jury selection is gearing up for both trials.
Now if Michelle Williams doesn’t ring a bell, maybe ‘Black Widow’ does. This is the Keller woman accused of killing her husband, Gregory Williams, back in 2011. Cops say she told them he was shot by an intruder, and then changed her story – saying he committed suicide. Well, she agreed to a plea deal, admitting she staged the crime scene and tampered with evidence. However, she told the media she was not guilty. Now it will be up to the jury to straighten out this tangled web.
Oh, and we left out the pregnancy that prosecutors say she faked.
Anywho, moving on to Eric Williams – no relation. He’s accused of three murders in Kaufman County back in 2013, assistant D.A. Mark Hasse – gunned down outside the City Courthouse, and D.A . Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia – executed in their home Easter weekend. No, all of this happened after Williams was charged with theft, which resulted in him losing his seat as Justice of the Peace. And as it turns out, Williams was prosecuted by Hasse and McLelland.
This back-to-back episode of the State of Texas vs. Williams, and Williams, starts Tuesday – and will have an extended run.
