DALLAS- The countdown is on for students across North Texas. It’s almost time to head back to class. You can almost hear them singing the back to school blues.

Last minute shopping and prepping can put parents in a bind, but the YMCA is stepping up and lending a helping hand. The Oak Cliff Family YMCA hosted a free, fun-filled back to school bash on Saturday afternoon. For neighborhood families, it was a chance to get a head start on the new school year.

The event wasn’t your regular back to school fair; this shindig had games, jams, and bites to eat. Heck, they even had free haircuts for kids.

Oh, and of course, students got a chance to stock up on school supplies. So, what better way to motivate the kids to get back to the books, than to throw a block party?
