MARLIN — How far does “freedom of speech” go on social media these days?
Well, ask former Sergeant Rob Douglas. That’s right – former Sergeant.
Marlin PD canned Douglas after his infamous social media rant.
The cop was placed on leave Monday. Now, he’s jobless.
Hmmm… wonder if the five year vet thought he was ‘above the law’ when he expressed his frustration about folks on food stamps?
His post reportedly referred to them as ‘useless lazy turd bags’ and ended, “If I ever snap and go on a killing spree, it will be in a supermarket on the first.” Woah there!
Guess the city of Marlin, near Waco, didn’t want to be cuffed to the cop.
The Waco Tribune- Herald reports Douglas was fired for violating ‘social media policies and rules of conduct’.
Call it a lesson learned for everyone.
You may want to ponder before you post.
