Two 100 Year-Old Best Friends Give Their Advice for Longevity

NEWTON, IA– Best friends seem to do everything together–for Dorothy Pickett and Florence Koppin, that included turning 100 together.

Both women turned 100 this summer– Pickett is enjoying 100 roses given to her for the milestone, and now, they`re sharing their secrets for longevity.

‘I didn`t stay at home,’ Pickett said. ‘I went [out] as much as I could.’

And they say being active is important, too.

“I’ve always worked hard, picked corn and all that kind of stuff,’ Koppin said.

But most importantly? Having a little fun.

“I’m in bed by 10, but I’ve done a lot of dancing in my life, so I’ve had action,’ Pickett said.
