RICHARDSON- Chris Gordon was like any other sophomore at Berkner High School in Richardson; he loved football and hanging out with his friends.
“Chris was a great kid, to say he was a well-liked kid would be an understatement.” said Berkner football coach Jim Ledford
School friend Chyna Wooten described him as, “an absolute sweet guy, just a sweetheart, always had a smile on his face.”
Monday night that smile was taken away. According to Dallas PD, Chris was hanging out with some friends in front of a shopping center on the 9700 block of Forest Lane, when a car drove by and started shooting.
Chris died from a gunshot wound to the head.
“It just tore me down. Never in a day like this I would ever thought I would of lost him out of all people; he was so innocent,” said Chyna.
Dallas PD is trying to figure out if this was gang related or a random act of violence.
“It bothers me that some people think that he hung around the wrong type of people, because he was not like that, he hung around with good kids.” his coach said.
Friends say Chris was just at the wrong place at the wrong time and want senseless acts like this to stop.
