The battle on the border continues; this time it’s a battle over the budget. Homeland Security said Border and Customs agencies are set to run out of money by September, if Congress doesn’t grant Obama’s $3.7 billion request to fund the border crisis.

“They won’t even vote on a bill!   They don’t even have enough energy or organization, or I don’t even know what, to vote no! On a bill,” President Obama said.

Obama’s frustration stems from Republican criticism, after he refused to visit the border during his trip to Texas.

“He’s been President for five and a half years! When is he going to take responsibility for something,” asked Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Boehner.

But, seeing the problem up close isn’t going to keep the budget from being drained. It’s up to Congress to cough up the money.

Hey, you know things are bad when three of the world’s richest men, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and Sheldon Adelson get together and write an op-ed to The New York Times noting Americans are being shortchanged by Congress.

As the clock ticks for reps on both sides of the aisle to get things done, it’s only a matter of time before we’re bordering on broke.
