Big Tex Leads In Quirkiest Landmark Contest
TYSONS CORNER, VA – It’s a big day for “Big Tex.”

The Dallas icon is in the running for one of the top landmarks in the U.S. – the wackiest that is.

USA Today hosted the online contest “Best Quirky Landmark,” and voting ended Monday at noon.

So, who’s the hometown hero up against?

Well, there’s a little competition close to home with the Prada Marfa – in Marfa, Texas.

The Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, and the Houston Beer House are also in the running.

Out of state, the competition is woven pretty tight – literally.

Big Tex is up against a basket. Yes, a basket. It’s the Longaberger office building in Newark, Ohio.

Quirky indeed.

There’s no telling who’s going to come out on top from this showdown. Big Tex was number one in the voting, with the basket case coming in number two.

One thing’s for sure, Big Tex better watch his back; seems like this competition is no picnic.
