The last time we saw Makenzie Wethington, she was in the hospital, wearing a brace and facing a lot of rehab after a parachuting accident.
She’s doing a lot better now. She just finished her sophomore year at Joshua High School.
While her outlook is good, the outlook for the skydiving company looks pretty good, too.
Remember Makenzie’s description?
“I started kicking my feet like I was taught in the class,” she said back on February 13. “I tried to pull the togs apart and I just was not strong enough to fight off the wind. So, I just remember screaming and I blacked out.”
The FAA released a report Tuesday that says the chute was fine and clears Pegasus Air Sports of Chickasha, Oklahoma. The report says Makenzie panicked and didn’t follow emergency instructions.
So far, her family’s not talking about the FAA report. They’re just glad she’s alive.
