FORT WORTH- Although he’s only had a short stint in Washington, there’s no question Senator Cruz packs a Texas-sized punch when it comes to standing up for what he believes in. At the Texas GOP Convention in Fort Worth, he delivered.

On Friday, the GOP keynote speaker fired up his grassroots supporters with his talk to bring back freedom.
“Today¬† liberty is under assault again, today like never before and let me tell you,¬† today Texans will stand up and fight to defend our freedom,” Cruz said.

Cruz called for the right to bear arms, like a true Texan.

“In the great state of Texas, gun control means hitting what you aim at,” he said.

Yep, we hear the Open Carry Tarrant County guys cheering!

He even called out President Obama’s support of the National Security Administration’s surveillance tactics.

“Let me ask you please leave your cell phones on, I want to make sure President Obama hears every word we say today,” he said.

Still no official word if Cruz plans to run for President in 2016. But, it’s a no-brainer he’ll be at the top of the Texas GOP Presidential straw poll.

Looks like George Strait won`t be the only one bringing down the house this weekend.
